Cohen's "new" vintage high chair....

This was a hand-me-down antique high chair my little sister used for her two girls, and I needed to give it some boyish charm for my little man. I slapped on a few coats of an almost black and then hit it with my current favorite color, Hosta. I HEART this high chair! Now if I could just keep the little man from trying to climb out. I guess safety wasn't such an issue back then...hmmm.

A Funky Wreath....I liked the way this spring wreath turned out. Now to hone my photography skills!

Amber's Wedding

Ahhh...a lovely, casual. outdoor wedding. So fun and pretty! My BFF Dawn's little sis got married at a quaint historic home and had the ceremony on the back lawn...such a great day and a great couple! Dawn and I made all the decorations, flowers, etc. I must say, Dawn put in quite a few more hours of labor than I, but we pulled it off! We even made ALL the floral arrangements, bouquets, etc. Somehow, in all the haste of preparations, I failed to get any pics of those! I will have to get some from Dawn and post...stay tuned!

So my uber talented BFF (Dawn) called me up and said "Hey, I got a pattern and some cute fabric, let's make outfits" and my inner monologue began some thing like this...Is she crazy? Did she call me by mistake on a caffeine high or something? She knows my love/hate relationship with my sewing machine!? But being a southern lady, out of my mouth came "Sure! sounds fun!". Cut to Dawn and myself at the sewing machine, she with the patience from above and me with my seam ripper in hand muttering to myself inaudibly. Lo and behold...here is the finished product! Not bad if I do say so myself, but lets give credit where credit is due...THANK YOU DAWN W!!! Without your guidance, my daughter would have some seriously cute headbands but would be sporting a Target ensemble to match! Kudos my friend:)

Uggggghhhh!!!

So...quick update....THE BREUGGER'S COUPON IS A FAKE!!! I went by this morning and they have posted a copy of this freebie coupon and said that they were accepting this at first, but then corporate called and said it was fake! Bummer! So sorry about that...I will keep my eyes open for real ones:)

Chair Re-do.....

I actually found this chair at someone's curbside toss out a few years ago and I painted it white and put a cute pink fabric on it for Rylie's nursery. Since then it has been in our attic and I decided to give it a second chance:) So, I painted it with Sherwin William's Quietude (LOVE this color...it is in my living room) and then hand sanded it and dry brushed it with a taupe color I found for 50 cents at Lowe's. Then I very lightly glazed it with a mocha glaze, but only sporadically...not all over. Then came the seat. I LOVE burlap right now, so I printed out the dictionary definition for "fox" and ironed it on to the burlap. Then I picked at the edges until it looked nice and worn and then stapled the burlap to the seat. Easy Breezy and only cost a couple of dollars because I had most everything on hand.
